I'm so geeked! I asked Nick a few questions on My Space, and he responded. This is his message back to me. It's interesting & I thought others would be interested in reading it too!:
been playing the drums for about 11 years, currently studying music at my local uni and have been in and out of bands since i started. one of the early projects that i was proud of was Trip, you should check them out, we had an interesting sound that heavily influenced the up bringing of Disgracelands. It was in Trip that me and Clarky met and from there i was introduced to Gareth (i was about 16 at the time), our relationship grew from there really.
Rhys was a spot of good luck in my eyes, he took a bit of nurturing to begin with (being the youngest in the band) but his ideas and ability are great for what we do. As a trio we began as Disgracelands and was asked to play a few covers with gareth which then turned into what you hear today.
So we are still playing in both bands but BG is kinda taking off due to gareths fame but we still put a lot of effort into DL as the music has a very progressive sound that we all love to play (and nic is a fantastic front man).
Hope this answers your questions. your more than welcome to post this on your forum if you think it's of any value.
all the best
Nick
